Pins Inserted In Fractured Hip Bones. Doing Physical Therapy. Could It Be A Severe Muscle Injury In The Groin?
Thanks for posting your query.
A fractured hip is usually associated with the soft tissue injury of the surrounding structures also. Such soft tissue injuries usually heal in 8-10 weeks on taking adequate rest. Persistence of pain even six months after an internal fixation might be related to a labral tear which might have happened at the time of fall.
To diagnose the damage, MRI is the best investigation. You can get an MRI done for the proper assessment.
Doing physiotherapy and active exercises in the time of pain is not advisable. You can only indulge in passive stretching of the legs or quadriceps drill till the problem is actually diagnosed.
Till then for symptomatic relief, you can take over the counter analgesics, do hot fomentation and apply local analgesic gel on the affected areas.
Adding calcium and Methylcobalamin supplements to your diet will also be helpful.
I hope this answers your query.

Thanks for writing again.
In case it is actually a labral tear then conservative treatment or arthroscopic repair is considered according to the site and extent of tear.
You need to get an MRI done and find out the cause of such a pain. The treatment will then be decided according to the problem.
