Saliva Smelling Like Vinegar, White Spots On Tongue, Reflux, Feeding Problems
Question: my grandbaby's saliva smells like vinegar whats up?

To understand the problem better i would need some more information like :
1)Does she have any tiny white spots on her tongue? (thrush).
2)Does she have reflux? Stomach acid smells kind of like vinegar. Or she may have had an acid burp prior to you picking her up. Infants with Acid reflux spit very often.
3 )Are there any feeding problems. Does she spit very often?
I can still provide some explanations for now,
Normal bacteria living in the mouth and interacting with leftover food particles could cause true breath odour in a healthy child. The food particles could be between the teeth, at the gum line, on the tongue, or on the surface of the tonsils at the back of your child s throat. If your grandbaby uses a pacifier, or sucks or chews on a blanket, this may be why he has bad breath. The object may have an odour from repeated exposure to saliva and oral bacteria.
