Although headaches can be caused by many illnesses, and most of them are not serious, any sudden severe headache needs evaluation.
Specially, we need to exclude any minor brain hemorrhage (bleeding) or a minor brain stroke.
As of now, you can use ibuprofen tablets for pain relief. However, if the pain does not subside, or if she has vomiting, you should take her to ER and get a brain CT scan done.
