Should A Booster Dose Of Hepatitis A Vaccine Be Given To A 6 Year Old Child?
Question: This is regard of my daughter. She is currently 6.5 years old. I recently got myself enrolled for the Prime Minister's Child vaccination program where you automatically get the SMS reminder for the vaccines due.
Couple of days back I got a SMS reminder that she need to get the dose of Hep A 2 dose. Just wanted to reconfirm if this is correct. Just for your information, I had her vaccinated for all the things as per schedule.
Also I would like to ask if there is new vaccine schedule with you available.
Hello Doctor,
I have uploaded the vaccination chart for your reference.
Also please do let me know what other vaccination I should get her through.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
She needs booster doses of DPT, OPV and typhoid along with Hep 2
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have gone through your child's immunization card. She is due for her booster doses of DPT, OPV, Typhoid and Hepatitis A vaccine.
These vaccines can be given together or you may give Hepatitis A dose after 4 weeks of DPT, OPV and typhoid boosters.
There is no other vaccine required.
Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care

Thanks doctor for your response.
My wife just confirmed that she "might" have applied these vaccines but she is not 100% sure. Will there be any issue if we give my daughter another booster dose of these vaccines?
Please share your vies.

Brief Answer:
Try to find out by other means
Detailed Answer:
Hi
You may try to find out from your pediatrician records as many do maintain such detailed records.
In case, there is a doubt then you may give them again because the benefits are more than side effects. The common side effects are local redness, pain, fever, irritability.
Hopefully this will help you.
