Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.
I have gone through your current and previous queries and I understand your concern.
Considering your age, osteoporotic changes to bones are quite normal. Plus, you have to take long-term omeprazole due to acid reflux and it reduces bone density. Hence, chances of bones becoming weak are increased. But you should not stop taking omeprazole as reflux should be treated and now you are complaining of barretts esophagus too. So, keeping the acid reflux under control is necessary in order to prevent further epithelial metaplasia.
For osteoporosis, you can take fosamax again in daily or weekly dosage. I might also suggest zoledronic acid injections. They have to taken once yearly and have wonderful efficacy to strengthen weak bone. Alongwith, you have mentioned taking Vitamin code grow bone. You can continue taking it. Or you may take calcium and VitD3 supplementations alongwith.
Do brisk exercise, eat healthy, take plenty of water.
Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
