Should I Take Ciprofloxacin For Dizziness And Nausea When Diagnosed With Leptospirosis?

Question: Hello,
I am currently in French Polynesia. 4 days ago I came down with symptoms similar to leptospirosis after drinking natural spring water. My symptoms are improving but fatigue, improved headache, calf tenderness, joint pain in my hands and slight dizziness and nausea remain. I have a prescription for ciprofloxacin (for travelers diarrhea) if needed. I know it is not the ideal antibiotic and my symptoms are improving but shoul I take it?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No need to take ciprofloxacin

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Though you have symptoms similar to leptospirosis, it has not been confirmed with any tests.
If you feel the symptoms are improving, then there is no need to take ciprofloxacin ( as you said it is not the right antibiotic).

You can take just tylenol.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
