What Does High Fever, cough And Swollen Right Neck Gland Indicate?
My 5 year old daughter complained of a headache and had a fever of about 101 last night. I gave her tylenol and put her to bed. At around 4am she had a fever of 102.3 so I gave her ibuprofin and put her back to bed. When she woke up she had crust around her right eye but both eyes are watery, slightly red and tearing. She has had an ongoing cough and runny rose since December. This past weekend she complained of her neck hurting and the right gland was slightly swollen. Doctors appointment show clear chest/lungs and no strep. Are the symptoms related or is there more than one issue happening? Please help.
It looks like your daughter is suffering from frequent upper respiratory infections which are quite common in this group. Give her a course of antibiotics for 7 to 10 days along with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. You can also add decongestant nasal drops and anti histamine syrup like cetirizine along with antibiotics. Give her frequent sips of hot water and steam inhalations.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
