Hello XXXXXXX

Ayubowan! What you are having is auditory hallucinations and when they are occurring just before sleep are called hypnogogic auditory hallucionations. Stress and anxiety which you are currently having are important causes for these hallucinations. Aside from hearing the voices through the ears, sometimes one could hear the voices as thoughts in their heads or from somewhere else. Although medical causes like schizophrenia may also cause these symptoms but in your case it looks like stress induced.

You need an urgent medical management for these symptoms. These include:

1)     Controlling the anxiety levels. Although you are under stress but you have to realize that bad times do not last forever. Every cloud has a silver lining as well. Try to identify and focus on activities that make you feel better. Motivate yourself to do things for yourself, talk to your family and friends and discuss your stress with them. They will help you find a solution to your problem. Controlling and removing anxiety is the primary treatment. Also join some meditation and yoga classes to calm your mind.

2)     Regular exercise and proper diet are essential to good health. Exercise is of paramount importance because it releases endorphins from the body.

3)     You need to take some antianxiety medications like short reuptake serotonin inhibitors (SSRI) and benzodiazepines like alprazolam and clonazepam.

4)     Psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy is of equal importance as medications and you should hold these sessions with a good psychiatrist/ psychologist.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
