Suffering From Headache, Pain Around Eyes And Have Vision Problem. What Should I Do To Get Relief?
Question: I'm having headaches since last year. I used to do sit-ups and since last year I feel a headache strain starting from the back and going all round to my eyes. Sometimes i feel upper neck aches. When I bend over sometimes it feels like i'm mounting a bucket of water, I feel dizzy a times can't concentrate and sometimes i feel like having vision problems (had an eye test, it's normal), light headed and walking on air feel. When I laughs so much, it's like I've triggered a nerve or something. I feel a tension in my head when even exercise. I don't know whats going on in my head or nerves disturbed when I used to do these sit-ups. CT taken in October 2011 was normal.no head injury or migraine history. Don't smoke or drink alcohol. Please help,
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
After reading your problems, your headache seems to be stress related but I would also like to know if you have any associated nausea or vomiting because then the diagnosis of migraine is more likely.
If you do not have nausea or vomiting, then yoga, breathing exercises and relaxation therapy should help immensely.
But you should get your fundus ( the most posterior portion of your eye) also checked also from eye specialist to rule out rare causes of headache such as benign intracranial hypertension.
Hope that helps

Hello Doc
I don't suffer from nausea or vomiting. However last year I also had a LP done, but all tests came back ok. I'm not stressed at all. I will get my fundus checked even though my eyes were also checked. Another symptoms I didn't mention is that when I lay my head on the pillow, I feel like my head laid on a XXXXXXX My face feels stretched,I have to play with my jaws to relax the tinkling nerves. If I pull something or bite my teeth, on release, I feel as my head mounted a tension pain and it relaxes after a few secs.
Painful, I can't get to massage my head cause it triggers this tension. If I hold press any part of the head especially the back, the tension pain comes then goes after a while.

Dear,
Thanks for providing the additional details.
After deliberating hard on your complaints I feel that you probably suffer with tension headache.
Get CT scan of brain done. If that's normal, you can be started on drugs like amitriptylline under the guidance of a neurologist. This would relieve your symptoms.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other enquiries.
