First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or NSAIDS like Aleve (naproxen) and ibuprofen (advil) can be used as acute attack of gout in any case needs starting the treatment with NSAIDS and no Antigout medication is started during acute attack.
First priority is to control pain and infammation and then lowering the levels of uric acid by either decreased production or increased excretion.
Also avoid red meat, pulses and green leafy vegetables for few weeks.
It's better to use antacids like omeperazole or pantoprazole before meals for gastric protection alongwith NSAIDS if need of use exceeds few days.
