Suggest Alternative Medication For Groin Rash Apart From Hydrocortisone
Intertrigal erythema
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with a rash in the groin area. This is a very hard area sometimes to stop rashes from forming. If you are a little overweight the skin folds may cause continued redness and rash. The usual treatment is to allow the skin folds to air out. It is very similar to diaper rash. Allow the skin to dry out and get air the rash stops growing. Using drying agents like talcum powder or antifungal powders will also help reduce the rash.
You can also use barrier type creams zinc oxide is one OTC but it is very thick and not very comfortable on the skin.
I hope this answers your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
I am super lean and I race bikes. Lyrcra holds in sweat etc. Any other ideas or treatments?
Oral antifungal
Detailed Answer:
I am glad to hear that you are thin and not a problem with intertrigo erythema. It is still very possible that you have a fungal infection. I may recommend using an oral antifungal to reduce the rash. Sometimes the topical antifungals are not effective and an oral is needed. I would recommend discussing with your medical provider a short course of diflucan maybe tried.
I hope that helps
