Suggest Alternative Medication For Scrotal Edema
Now I have developed scrotal edema.
I've been told to take diuretic medication, but they horribly constipate me. I use everything (hemorrohoidal creams, supporsitories) but as a result of the diuretic, it results in me either not being able to defecate or having rectal bleeding--which is simply unacceptable, as is the scrotal edema.
!) What can I do to resolve this conflict?
2)By the way, if i increase drinking water, while that may help my constipation, will it make the diuretic less potent?
Thank you for your consideration.
Ensure High fibre diet
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Sir
Congestive Cardiac failure may cause non inflammatory scrotal oedema. Use of diuretic will be helpful in managing scrotal oedema. Salt intake should be restricted to increase efficiency of diuretic, water can be used. Restricting water intake nay worsen constipation and cause rectal bleeding.
I would suggest you the following
1. Ensure adequate intake of water : 2 liter a day. Further increasing watwr intake may worsen congestive cardiac failure.
2. High fiber diet : 2 servings of vegetable salad and 2 servings of fruits especially citrus fruit will ensure adequate intake of fiber in diet. Fibre intake is very important in managing constipation
3. Laxatives like Lactulose will be helpful.
4. Hot Seitz bath : To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. It will relax the muscle around anus and decrease rectal bleeding
5. Restrict excess intake of salt in diet
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
