Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being here on Healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

I have gone through your mother's clinical and medication details.

Lyrica(Pregabalin) is known to cause allergic reaction causing swelling of face and lips.
It should be stopped and other anti-neuralgic medicines like 'amitriptyline' and 'duloxetine' should be tried.

It is important to establish the cause of chronic neuropathy .Since your mother is not a diabetic,it becomes important to establish the etiology.Once the etiology(cause) is established,a targetted approach specific towards the disease can be applied.

Anti-neuralgics(like Lyrica) are not disease specific drugs.

Investigations should be done-Serum vitamin B12,Blood sugar fasting(repeat it),nerve conduction studies.Thyroid disorders also can be a cause of neuropathy. So,please repeat thyroid function tests to see if hypothyroidism is well controlled.

Actually a thorough neurological examination by a neurologist is mandated because she is not responding to anti-neuralgic drugs and it is important to establish the cause of the neuropathy.

Hope I answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer, else please close the thread and rate it.

PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHYSICIAN ONLY.
