Suggest An Alternative Medication For Glimepiride Taken For Diabetes

Question: Hello sir. My mother is using GM-2 SR for diabetes relieve, one tablet daily. but she is getting puffy body. Her sugar level is usually 180-200 fasting. Is there any other tablet not to make her body puffy.

One of the side effect of the tablet which you are taking is weight gain. Generally if the patients with such complaints if they would have come to my clinic Would have started with either vildagliptin or sitagliptin. Also would have advised regular exercise and diet.
Please consult your diabetologist for the change in tablets.

Sir now a days my mother is consuming BGR-34,product of c.s.i.r. Is it safe alongwith allopathic treatment ?
