Suggest Centamol Drops Alternative For Fever In Infants
Question: Our baby is 6 weeks old and having the weight of arnd 3 kgs. The bay was vaccinated for 6 weeks vaccines yesterday. Doctor advised us to give the fever medicine to baby as the fever is expected.
Baby is having light fever since yesterday evening. So we are started giving Centamol drops having the flavor(mango+mint). It seems baby is not liking the taste and she spits the medicine with saliva after few minutes of intake. Should I look for some other medicine or keep giving the same? Can you please advise about the dosage of this medicine to the baby.
Brief Answer:
try crocin drops
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
It is common for babies to get fever after 6 weeks vaccination.
If your baby is not liking that brand, try crocin drops.
Dose I usually recommend for a 3 kg child is 0.5 ml drops every 6 hours if fever is present.
If fever is not present you can skip dosing.
Wishing your baby speedy recovery and good health
Regards
Dr Arun
