Suggest Diet Plan For A Person Post Gastric Bypass Surgery
Suggestions on Post-Gastric Bypass diet in 6th week
Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Suggestions on Post-Gastric Bypass diet in 6th week and treats for the dumping diarrhea
HI,Welcome for your query to HCM.
You need to understand the limitation of the dietary food intake, for which you have been trained from pre-op liquid diet, to first stage post-op liquid diet for 1 wk/to second stage from 2nd to 3rd week(wk)-mainly pureed diet with protein/calcium and low fat / carbo diet,
with the 3 rd stage diet -of more thicker fluid, from 4th week till 5 th week-with more solid but pureed eating /chewing training
Diet After 6th week of gastric bypass-
-and with 4 th stage diet-from 6th week-for which you asked this query-diet should consist of more solid food with high protein contents, taken 3 -4 times rather than hourly feeds in the past and with more stress on the purreying of the solid eaten food, by more chewing with small bites and volumes each time, with strict limitation of no water or liquids or beverages 30 minutes after solid food.
-Whether to take V Bact DS Capsule-for the stomach upsets?
Stomach upsets after gastric bypass could be avoided by restricting sugar from fruits / beverages and restricting Fat to lowest, to reduce the diarheas, which may disturb the fluid and electrolyte balance of stressed body energies and fluids.
Thus V Bact DS capsule is not a must to treat gastric upsets and the above food intakes would control the diarheas,(due to gastric pass),as food enters directly without any digestion as the new stomach is with small entry and exist directly in to small intestines, for which small bites and chewing to make it purred food from the solid intake with less frequent and more caloric intake per meal x 3 times per day is the theme of the diet.V Bact DS capsule could only supplement to be used to maintain the bacterial flora of the small bowel, but is not the solution for the gastric/dumping diarrheas caused mainly due to sugar/ and fat contents of the food entering without processing due to gastric bypass.
-Basic would be to maintain protein-60-80 gms/calcium citrate x 3 times 400 mgm/Vit D3- 2 times per day/ with Sublingual B12 500 mcgm 2 times / to maintain good health with low weight, which is the main of gastric bypass done.
Hope this reply would help you to resolve your query.

NO- is the Suggestion on use of V Bact Ds/Sporlac for post-bypass Diarrheas
Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-NO- is the Suggestion on use of V Bact Ds/Sporlac for post-bypass Diarrheas in emergency
Hi,Dear,thanks for the update query.
It seems you did not read My detailed discussion made for you in My last reply given under- V Bact Ds head.
As both these preperations are Lactobacillus probiotics, these would not help you to control the emergency you would have after gastric bypass.
At That emergency time you would need to contact your doctor , who would study the cause of the bypass diarrhea, whether infection origin or from the bypassed food issues at that time.Only a Surgeon would be needed in that case.
You would need to understand the importance of -solid diet in 4th stage 3 times ,is allowed after training-of Chewing small solid foods to make it a purree and to restrict the food to high protein/low carb and low fat diets.
So the answer for V Bact DS / sporlac during emergency post bypass is big NO-and Doctors check for that emergency is the right answer,as you need to find out if that emergency diarrhea is due to bacterial infection from the food/ or from the overloaded solid high fat/carb food.
Hope this would resolve your query. This would also help you to plan further
treatment in case of emergency of post-bypass gastric diarheas.
Will appreciate YOU, to write excellent feedback comments about My services to help the needy patients like YOU,at My clinic in the HCM services
