Brief Answer:
The dosage is indeed high, but risk vs benefit always needs to be weighed

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I do agree with your cause for concern, but I am sure your doctor has decided to increase the dosage of CREON only because he/she feels that your body needs it.

You have also not reported any side effects so far which means that you seem to be tolerating the dosage so far, which is good news indeed.

In cases where such high doses are being prescribed or administered, a 3-day fat feacal fat measurement is conducted to make sure that a there is a significant improvement in the sum of fat absorption. And once the benefit versus risk analysis is made, your doctor can decide whether or not to continue with the mentioned dosage or immediately reduce it to a safer one.

But if at all they do decide to lower it, that will prove that the given high dosage also was not helping you as much as they hoped it would, and hence may have to think about further management.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
