Suggest Dosage For Freeflex Forte

Question: Hi Doctor,

My mother has been prescribed with mega free flex for life long. Doctor said that she needs to take medicine for 3 months continuously, then take an interval of one month, then again take medicine for 3 months for life long. Is it right to take this medicine this way?

Hello,
I have studied your case. Mega free flex forte is a cartilage replacing drug and it needs to be taken for longtime. She can take these tablets regularly without any monthly gap.
She should also take calcium and vitamin D 3. Also she should learn from physiotherapist about static quadriceps exercises. She should avoid squatting sitting cross leg and also reduced some weight.
Hot water fomentation and local application of volitra gel will be helpful.

I read about some side effects of the drug... majorly it could lead to diabetes... Is it correct?????
