Will answer one by one.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and will answer one by one regarding diet and exercises in patient with myocardial infarction (antero-septal).
1) Light exercises would be best:
One can start walking (preferably in the morning) initially on the flat surface for about 15 to 20 mins and gradually increase the distance, duration and the gradient as much as he/she can tolerate.
Avoid heavy or strenuous exercises initially or one can do only after consulting his doctor.(doctor may check the ejection fraction of heart (2D-Echo),site and size of blockage)
Exercise helps to build better lungs, better heart health, better vasculature and overall better health.
2) Low cholesterol foods, light food is advisable.
-Have ample of vegetable salads- at least 1 bowlful cut raw vegetables like cucumber, tomato, carrot and vegetables which one can eat raw.
- Snacks should contain healthy nuts like almonds or walnuts and a few dry fruits which will reduce excess cholesterol in blood.Fruit should be taken if he/she is non-diabetic.
- Avoid soft drinks or hard drinks and smoking cessation.
- Simple Chapati and steamed rice or rotis made up of different whole grains should be your staple diet.
- Skimmed milk and milk items made up of skimmed milk are good to check on cholesterol.
3) The main reason for coronary artery disease (MI) is deranged lipid profile,so one should avoid fat intake in any form.
-Avoid oily foods, cheese, butter, ghee, junk food or fried items.
-No added oil in the food.
-Non-vegetarian food can be taken but only once in a week.
-Avoid chicken and mutton, more of fish. Egg white can be taken, but not yellow.
- Egg white is fine but avoid egg yellow means egg yolk.
