Misses can be treated like any other swelling, by applying ice to the area and taking an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. If the site is red and hot (check with the back of your fingers, they're more accurate than your finger pads), it has become infected and you need antibiotics to treat the abscess. If an abscess does form, don't squeeze it or try and draw it by poking a needle in there, as you're only likely to spread the infection and make it worse.
