Suggest Home Remedies For Dark Patches On The Buttocks
Question: Hello doctor, my buttocks has dark black patches which is looking ugly. I tried all home remedies but doesn't seem to work. Please suggest

I can understand your concern regarding your skin problem.
Based on the history given you seem to have hyperpigmentation of the skin on the buttocks.
It can be due to skin infections in the area or due to lack of blood circulation into the skin of this area due to sitting down for long and rubbing of tight clothing against the skin of the area work which seems to be increased over a period of time. It can also be genetic.
I need some more information so as to analyze your condition properly like
1. For how long do you have this problem?
2. Is there any associated pain or itching or discomfort?
3. Do you have any other medical issue or take some medications?
4. I also would like to have a look at the exact skin condition, so kindly upload the pictures of the affected area. You can simply upload/attach them at the reports section

Hello doctor,
I'm seeing these dark patches on my lower butt and near the anus region since 2 years now.
I don't have any pain or itching. My personal hygiene is good as well.
As you said, it looks like a patch of hyperpigmented skin on both of the buttocks.

Kojic acid containing cream and vitamin supplements.

Due to a combination of factors like sweat, moisture and friction the skin over the buttocks can develop frictional dermatitis leading to post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.
I advise you the following:
1. Use a Kojic acid based cream at night.
2. You may take oral vitamin C and E supplements.
3. Keep the area dry, use loose cotton undergarments
4. Take a shower twice a day.
5. Take plenty of oral fluids to keep yourself well hydrated.
6. Try to reduce your weight if you are obese.
7. Check for blood glucose (sugar) if there is positive family history of diabetes.
If there is no improvement with the above treatment, you may consult a dermatologist for chemical peeling using Glycolic acid. It is less time consuming and give excellent results.
