Brief Answer:
Read below.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Sciatica pain is difficult to deal with even with pain medication so I am not sure you will be able to get relief without medication. However things you can do include application of cold packs in the first 1-2 days and afterwards application of heat.

Bed rest is indicated only the first 1-2 days afterwards activity can be resumed avoiding periods of standing for a long time or lifting weights.

Physical therapy sessions should also be initiated as soon as possible although I guess they need an appointment as well. In the meantime low back stretching exercises may be done.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
