What Causes Episodes Of Sudden Weakness In Legs?

I have intermittent leg weakness... i.e. I walk along and suddenly feel as if my legs are going to give out and I ll be be on my knees. I have to really think about taking the next step. I have a bad back and have lived with sciatica for 30 years off and on but don t really have much of an issue with it cause I do my excersizes regularly. I am currently very active physically and the symptom is mostly when I am not working hard but rather when I am more relaxed and moving slower.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are not suggestive of any serious neurological disorder. Nevertheless, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a lumbar spine MRI and nerve conduction studies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
