Suggest Ideal Diet For A Person Diagnosed With Cancer

My dad has been fighting cancer for a year and a half w Sarcoma. He himself is an internist, just retired from the VA after practicing medicine for 40 years. He is on his 3rd round of chemo and has been given a 15% chance of surviving past 5 years. I'm just wondering if there are any foods or smoothies he can have that would be palatable or beneficial for him to try while he goes through chemo.
Thank you,
XXXX
Ok, thank you Dr. Sundriyal.
Can I give him a Hershey's chocolate bar or does it need to be boiled, then cooled, etc? I assume this is to kill any germs?
Thanks,
Hello dear. Any food which is hygienic is ok
Detailed Answer:
hello dear. I understand your concern towards your father. True to the facts, chemotherapy causes a decrease in appetite and taste and sometimes it becomes very difficult. We usually advise any food which is properly cooked can be eaten. Raw salads (underground vegetables like radish , carrots ) should be avoided. Boiled confectionaries like hard toffies and chocolates can be taken. All fruit juices either freshly prepared at home or in sealed tetrapacks can be consumed. Home made sweets an be taken.
Thanks and regards

Thanks and regards
