Question: WHAT IS THE BEST OVER THE COUNTRY FOR ANXIETY? I have chronic depression which generates anxiety. I take Sertraline 200 miligrams.

The best anti-anxiety medicines for fast relief are benzodiazepines. They include clonazepam, lorazepam , etizolam or alprazolam. They are strict prescription medicines and must be used under medical supervision to prevent dependence.

Over the counter vitamin supplements specifically vitamin E, D and B12 may help in anxiety.
Syrup benadryl may help in anxiety by its sedative property but it is not recommended for long term use.

Sertaline 200 mg is optimum dose and it is specific drug to treat anxiety. If you are still suffering from anxiety, low dose benzodiazephe can be added or mirtazapine is another option.
