Question: Finishing a10 day Zpack today for bacterial pneumonia. Feeling better but started coughing again last night. This morning cough is productive (clear/white). Thinking maybe I need to get to a lab to get sputum tested to identify the type of bacteria and what can I do for the cough??

Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide you about effective antibiotic treatment.

For coughing you can take antihistamine like Levocetrizine 5mg Once Daily at bedtime . Also take Steam inhalation three - four times daily .
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
