Brief Answer:
Yes, Start the following medicines right away.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

You have got Upper respiratory tract infection and need urgent but symptomatic medications. Such infections a re usually caused by viruses and viral infection of this type takes almost 7-10 days for recovery and it is mostly self limiting disease. You just need a symptomatic relief and some care.

I prefer to recommend you take, Ibuprofen for a week. Plus Claritin, Plus Over the counter available dry cough syrup for cough.

Take plenty of fluids and have a complete rest for early recovery. Avoid spicy and fried foods. Take fresh fruit juices and salads, vegetables and high protein diet is good for you. Take Ensure active clear protein drink twice daily.

Nasal douches with saline water will give you relief. Gargles with pyodine mouthwash 4 times a day, and brushing the teeth 2 times a day is needed.

Though you will not need it but in case, you feel all of the above isn't working anymore after a week, I recommend you start taking Azithromycin for 7 days. Its because your immune system failed to eradicate the virus and bacteria superseded and secondarily infected the Upper respiratory tract. Now you need a prescription from your physician for azithromycin antibiotic.

If all fails (will not going to happen) consult an otorhinolaryngologist for expert opinion.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns. I will be happy to get back to you shortly. If satisfied here, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.

Regards!
