Suggest Medication For Fungal Infection
I had gone through sinus surgery for fungal infection in Dec 2008.
Till Feb 2009 I was on medicines as prescribed by doctors.
I was perfectly fine.
But soon after 2 months in April 2009 I was feeling not well.
But doctors advised me it is nothing and told me to ignore it.
Since then I had problems like
Heacdache
problem in breathing
weakness
My skin keeps up broken day by day specially of my hands.
Lot of itching in my fingures in my foot
Situation becomes worst in summers but automatically becomes good in winters.
Recently I gone to a skin doctor to show my feet and
he told me it is "athlete foot" due to fungal infection
He advised me
1> fluconazole 150mg once in a week
2> CZN-L daily.
3> Lotion Tineagaurd and powder for external

I am feeling better, from inside in a slow speed (feeling better breath and less headache)
however, fingers of my feet are better.
I want to ask the dosage advise is enough for the complete recovery ?
I want to get rid of this fungal infection completely.
Pls advice what should be medicine course to get rid of the fungal infection
completely from inside as well as externally from the skin throughout the body.
As of now I am applying external lotions only on my feet as advised.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
I can understand your concern for the fungal infection of "athlete foot".
To tell you simply- Fungal infections are common type of infections which can affect anybody at any site. But more commonly it affects the areas which are more prone for moistness (as in your case).
Due to hot and humid climate or due to synthetic socks there is more moistness between the toes leading to growth of fungus.
After analyzing the treatment I reassure you have been provided with a good treatment and is the most appropriate for your kind of fungal infection. The only part is that the fluconazole is given according to severity of the infection.
In some patients it is given as alternate days, in some we give twice a week and in some we give weekly basis according to the clinical condition. So as per your status the doctor has given you weekly regimen.
Even if you want a personalized approach for the present situation then I would like to see the area.I request you to kindly upload few good resolution pictures of the area so that I can analyze it better. Kindly send good resolution pictures focusing the area of concern which can be seen on higher magnification. For uploading the pictures you have a facility on the right side of the page or can send on:

Other than that kindly follow the suggestion below:
- Keep your self away from hot and humid climate.
- Take two times bath.
- Wear cotton socks to be changed two times a day. Do not wear any synthetic socks.
-Don't try to scratch or rub the area as can lead to further aggravation of the problem.
- You continue using antiperspirant powders daily 3-4 times to avoid future infection.
Fungus is never a permanent problem and so is the treatment too!!
You need to check all the above conditions of moistness or humidity to prevent fungal growth.
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.
"Wish you good health and early recovery from the problem"

Thanks for your reply.
Pls reply to below querry also :
1> Daily dose of fluconazole is safe ?
2> Any antibiotic / herbal lotion available in market which can be applied externally throughout the body to clean skin from fungal infection.
There is no regimen of daily dose of fluconazole.
Detailed Answer:
Hello young fellow,
Welcome again to the forum and thanks for your further follow up.
Regarding your further queries:
- There is no regimen of daily dose of fluconazole and it is not considered safe. As I said earlier that in most severe of infection too we give on alternate day basis only and not daily. So do not try any daily dosing as may harm you rather than benefiting.
- For the part of antibiotic / herbal lotion to clean skin from fungal infection- any soap or lotion is good and it makes no difference basically. Some of the time I prefer for Ketoconazole soap for daily wash. It can be used twice daily and it contains an anti-fungal - ketoconazole in it.
Just maintain good hygiene and remain free from fungal infection.
I hope these information's will relax you completely. If you have further queries I will be happy to help or if not then can close the query and rate the answer.
