Question: Is there a drug for an extremely high blood pressure spike for an elderly female patient of Asian decent who is already taking blood pressure medicine regularly?

I read your query and understood your concerns.

If she was my patient I would recommend to take one of the following medications:
- Captopril 25 mg 1 tablet
- Nifedipin 10 mg 1 tablet

These medications will be effective in stabilising her BP. If these medications will not be able to do so she should go to ER for further examinations.

Hi back,

If she was my patients I would recommend to do the following examinations:
- Blood work including hormonal balance (thyroid and adrenal gland hormones)
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- Abdominal ECHO & Doppler examinations of renal arteries
