Question: My son is having an high fever. he was good till in the evening suddenly the body temperature started raising. it looks like high fever - suggest

His weight is 11kg and i belive due to fever he is shivering also. he is keep on crying. could you let me know is it due to body pains?

All infants become irritable during fever. If he is active between fever spikes, I will not be worried.
You can use Syp Crocin DS 3ml three to four times a day to control temperature. Continue feeding milk preferably XXXXXXX warm instead of cold mild. Encourage him to drink fluids and eat semisolid diet if palatable. Avoid covering him with heavy thick blanket. If he starts vomiting, or becomes less active, I will insist you visit a local pediatrician for evaluation.
In most cases, the cause of fever is viral which settle down in 2-4 days. Persistent irritability even when afebrile, recurrent vomiting, dehydration and reduced activity are signs that will need immediate medical attention. If he has any of those features or if fever persists for more than 3 days, it should be evaluated at you doctor's office. Blood and urine work up may be required.
