My husband and I learned it has been there since at least 2008 as stated on other endoscopies(while under care of two other GI spec surg yrs 2000-1/31/17 both from different cities) my current GI surgeon is associated with Mt Carmel East, West and St Ann's Hospitals of XXXXXXX Ohio he is Dr XXXXXXX Aguila, fabulous gentleman, 38, top honors graduate has been in practice for 16 years. Everyone loves him. He literally saved my life! So sorry, now re: my wonderful husband who is taking excellent care of me, I would love to help him not have as much pain, he goes to be around 5-7 p.m. and sleeps an avg of 12 hrs getting up on avg 1-3 x nightly to urinate, he doesn't drink for an hr before going to bed except 2-3oz, then he takes a nap during the day for an hr maybe two if we travel to XXXXXXX Ohio or have a knock out travel day or some kind of event. How can you help us please??? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Dopamine agonists should be tried.
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I appreciate your concern about your husband.
There are several medications available for restless legs syndrome. Neurontin is one of them but it seems it is off of the list in your husbands case. However you do not mention him having tried what is the first choice for RLS which are dopamine agonist class of drugs. The 3 members in that class are pramipexole, ropinirole or rotigotine. So one of those is a valid alternative for RLS.
Apart from medication one additional recommendation would be to avoid that nap during thee day, it doesn't help with the RLS.
I remain at your disposal for other questions.
