Question: Hello, I am a 25 years woman. My daily routine involves working early at home, going to office and work at home during evening again. I also have to take care of my child, 10 months old. I feel drained towards the end and am left with less energy. Recently I have started to feel weak too. Can you suggest something. I am currently taking one tablet of ShelcolHD 12 each day.

Brief Answer:
Improve diet + multivitamins...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your hectic schedule. Low energy and weakness generally have multifactorial causes. Inadequate sleep; improper diet; inadequate hydration coupled with physical as well as mental stress (including depression) may lead to low energy and weakness. Many studies suggest that the most common causes of weakness and low energy in a young previously healthy individual are inadequate sleep and depressive state.

I will urge you to plan your day better as to spend some time on yourself. It should make a lot of difference. Also make sure you get enough sleep (atleast 6-8 hours of unbroken sleep). Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Make sure you have a balanced diet with plenty of fresh vegetables. A fruit a day is a must.

I hope you do not suffer with menstrual irregularities such as heavy flow. If yes, please check for anemia. A simple blood hemoglobin level will tell us if you have anemia. Besides anemia, it would also be worthwhile to test thyroid functions, blood sugar, vitamin D and B12 levels.

At the end, though I do not favour starting supplements unless and until absolutely necessary, if needed you could take some multivitamins like zincovit to improve energy levels.

Hope this answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
