Dear XXXX, Welcome back to HCM,
I've gone through your query and I'm really sorry that you've been through so much at such a young age..
Yes there's certainly ways to pack up healthy pounds without getting involved in to commercial devices and measures..
But please let me know about your Weight and Height at the first place along with your occupation and the level of physical activity (daily basis) so that a proper calorie estimation can be obtained..
It doesn't matter even if you're having Hiatus hernia and GERD, you can certainly eat calorie and fiber rich foods but in proper portion..
So you can simply take one or two banana along with few legumes like pistachio , raisin , ground nuts (not the flavored ones, simple non-roasted ones and/ oven roasted)..
Have you tried Soy-milk and / Custard yet ? They are wonderful food substitute-tasty as well as filling and will give you the desired calorie in the long run..
Several options are available in this regard..
Also work-out plays a big role in this , as it'll not only keep you active but also motivated and 'hungry' so to speak so that you can actually 'eat' ..
So please get get back to me with all the details, and also please share the current list of medications , as it seems that you've already tried quite a few of the lot..
Awaiting your response..
Take Care
Kind Regards
relax.. don't worry so much.. things will be better pretty soon..

Dear XXXX, welcome back,
Thanks for following up..
Well your BMI is around 17 which is underweight, so you need to pack up pounds..
But it is needed to be done in a healthy way, so as for a start you need to be 'More Active' at the earliest..
There are some things about our body , what we can wish from our heart , we can achieve- called the Will-Power..so have faith in yourself and start getting out from home and take a stroll around the block, perhaps visit the park, so for an evening walk or jogging and pretty soon you'll start feeling the change..
Yoga is fine , keep it up..
As for your diet is concerned, you need a 1700-1800 KCAL high protein high fiber moderate Carb and low fat diet to begin with..
Like I've already mentioned in my previous answer, So you can simply take one or two banana along with few legumes like pistachio , raisin , ground nuts (not the flavored ones, simple non-roasted ones and/ oven roasted)..
Start having Soy-milk and / Custard (home-made , organic EGG based one will be the best for you).. They are wonderful food substitute-tasty as well as filling and will give you the desired calorie in the long run.. Also you can have them in either normal temp or even chilled or even frozen, in small portions so that they won't give you any trouble..put some vanilla stick scrapping to them , chop up any seasonal fruits and mix in and you'll get wonderful food mixture..
Also focus on having whole wheat , whole grain products , it'll help you with the weight gain, as well as rich resource of natural fiber ..
Keep taking natural probiotics like yogurt, a lot of them , it's an amazing food , rich in healthy bacteria, soothing for your gut, helps in digestion, calcium dense - a really novel food..
Stay focussed, stay motivated, watch movies, listen to music, read books , paint if you feel like, very soon you'll start discovering the changes..however gaining weight takes time in a healthy way, so it might take even a few months..
So don't loose hope..
Let me know how you stay in the due course..
Best wishes
Kind Regards
