Brief Answer:
First get examined by an orthopaedic surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
In case of knee buckling first get an opinion from orthopaedic surgeon. Possibility of ligament tear or quadriceps weakness may be there and physiotherapy may be required.
Second possibility may be some brain degeneration like parkinsonism which may also have falls. If the orthopaedic surgeon clears then take an advice from a neurologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
