Suggest Remedies For Burning And Tingling On Feet After Contact With Clorox And Vinegar

default
Posted on Fri, 29 Jul 2016
Question: Yes I would like to have some help.. I have a bad case of athletes foot, and decided to try a home remedy of Clorox and Vinegar and water, and tried to soak my feet. I thought that the stinging was because of the athletes foot, but it got to the point I had to take my feet out of the mixture because of the burning and tingling it created.. is there anything that will stop the stinging? I tried cream and OTC cortisone cream, but
it didn't work...help? I learned my lesson.. the hard way..

How long does it take for the doctors response?

Brief Answer:
Athlete's foot treatment

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear about your experiences with athlete's foot treatment. I would first recommend waiting until your feet heal from the clorox and vinegar solution. That may take up to 1 week. Do not use anything until this heals. Once the feet heal enough you can start using lamisil cream or powder. Use it twice daily and it may take 2-6 months to completely clear. The fungus in your skin is well entrenched and will need long term treatment. There is no quick easy fix. Be patient and you will see response to the lamisil. By the way using a steroid cream will actually worsen athlete's foot so avoid it.

Ok, but is there anything that will stop the chlorine burn where there is no athletes feet bacteria? It is stinging on and off like masses of ants biting the top of my feet.. this was my question, what can I use to stop the burning from chlorine on my skin?

Brief Answer:
Chemical burn to skin

Detailed Answer:
What you have is a chemical burn of the skin from the chlorine and vinegar. Unfortunately there are no topical medications that will reduce the stinging and burning. I would recommend trying ibuprofen or aspirin to help with the pain and burning.
