specific physiotherapy/ change in working posture would help,
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the query under health care magic platform. I have read your query carefully & understand your concern.
* All of the signs & symptoms you have are due to cervical spondylitis C5, C6 cervical vertebrae.. as you were told by your orthopedic doctor.
You are doing hand exercises/ taking break in work & have physical movements ..still you do not find relief.I feel you should try for-
- Physiotherapy/ physical therapy. Consult a physiotherapist/ physical therapist for specific advise about exercises in your particular case ( show your X ray/ MRI /CT scan reports.) You will be advised & trained for specific exercises. Please follow these regularly with exact details. Inquire about few the exercises to be done in office to relieve muscular pulls, pain.
- Fomentation/ ice pack do help in acute exacerbation.
- Avoid bending of neck / sudden change in neck position/ continuous stress in same position. For this your intermittent physical activities ( as per expert's advise ) are good.
- You work in Bank. obviously you have to do lot of computer job... which needs continuous flexing of neck,I feel, that must be the cause of your spondylitis. I would advise for a special computer desc, which does not require flexion of neck while working on computer. Change in posture at working place would help you a lot. You can consult your orthopedic for specific requirements needed in the new desc.
* Mostly proper physiotherapy done regularly/ taking care to maintain desired posture of neck calcium & vitamin D supplements As required ( decided by serum calcium & vitamin D levels )/ regular physical exercises for whole body & other parts of spine after expert advise/ maintaining optimum body weight / avoiding physical or psychological stress is sufficient to manage the problem & avoid worsening of sufferings.
Pain killer should be used only when essential. Increasing pain resistance is better way to cope up with the condition & also avoid complications of excessive pain medicines.
* Please don't panic ! surgery is the ultimate answer for uncontrolled pain. & the modern technique of micro surgery is seen to help such patients.
Sorry, I am not able to advise experts name from XXXXXXX I feel your orthopedic doctor / family doctor would be better ones to choose one for you. Consult a spinal surgeon.
I hope you found the answer to be both informative & useful. Any follow up query is welcome.
I would request for grading the answer ( in case you find it useful ) .. before you close it.
Thanks.
