Will Lying Down On Stomach Cause Headache And Chest Pain?

My daughter spends 6-8 hours a day on her stomach in bed on the computer in a sphinx like position, leaning of her elbows. She has Chiari in her cervical vertebrae already, but has never had symptoms. Could this position be the cause of her new symptoms-headaches, numbness in arms, chest pain? What would the treatment be? She is 35.

Hi,

Lying down on the stomach can cause compression on the spinal cord and nerves of vertebral column. This can lead to pain radiating to the head via the cervical vertebrae and via thoracic to the chest. Consult a specialist for the same.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. A. Amin, Homeopath
