Suggest Remedies For Constant Chronic Pain In Hips After Having Implants

Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2016
Question: I am a 59 yr-old vet with both hips with implants. On the left side they gave me one of the recall hip implants. This leg is also 3/4" longer then my right. Long story short I am in constant chronic pain. From the VA I get 80 Oxycodone 30 mg per month which works great when I need it, key being when I need it. I don't take every day and never more then 2 days in a row. They want me to get off the pain med but I would lose my livelyhood, job, etc I need a legal RX and access to meds.

Brief Answer:
Since the medicine is controlled, your treating doctor can alone help you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for posting your question.

I have read your query carefully and understand your problem very well.

If you can not function adequately without taking the medication, then you definitely require a valid legal prescription for the pain medication, whether it is controlled drug or not does not matter.

And since the medicine is controlled, you will not be able to get it prescribed on online forums/websites?

These prescriptions will not be legally valid and no pharmacist will sell you controlled medicines on such prescriptions.

So I request you to kindly discuss with your treating doctor and emphasize the need for continuing the medication.

Make your doctor understand the impact it has on the quality of life, your work etc.

I am sure your doctor will understand.

Wishing you good health and all the very best.

Warm regards
