Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern, and would recommend increasing the dose of hydroclorothyazide to 25mg daily. This will help you control your blood pressure better.

12.5mg of hydrochlorothyazide is a low daily dose.

From the other hand, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination and a routine check up :

- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound to examine your cardiac function and structure
- a chest X ray study
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose, blood lipid profile, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests) to exclude other possible causes of high blood pressure

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
