Question: I have what I call leaking bowels, I don't have any symptoms like abdominal pain or cramps and I don't even know it's happened until I feel something wet on my underwear and I go to the bathroom.

Brief Answer:
Its caused by a mucus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

What you find as leaking bowels is caused by mucus production and excretion. Its a common sign of IBS. Especially if you keep having constipation or do not pass stool regularly. Mucus is constantly produced by intestinal cells. If no stool is passing (due to constipation), only mucus is excreted.
Diet and probiotic is the best you can do to improve it. But its a part of IBS.
It would be good to have colonoscopy done (if there was no colonoscopy during last 10 years).

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
