Question: I'm 74 yrs old and have a problem with failure to have an orgasm. Would this medication be appropriate with a doctor;s supervision? I am in excellent shape ie run 3 miles 3 days/ wk and walk and lift weights 3 days per week. What do you think?Just to be clear, the medication I was referring to is cabergoline.

Brief Answer:
Cabergoline is not advisable in your case

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your query in detail.

This medication is an ergot derivative.

This drug is not advisable in your case as it is known to worsen your cardiac issues.

This drug is known to worsen your blood pressure and also contraindicated for this age.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Further tests may be needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

This issue is not always related to age factor.

Before deciding on further treatment and attribution to age its very important that you get an ultrasound of the abdomen and scrotal color doppler to rule out organic cause.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
