Question: Hi

My foreskin was hurt during intercourse a month back. This was because of less lubrication.
I tried for intercourse after a month and it still pains.

What should I do ?

Brief Answer:
Use a lubricated condom or KY jelly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can fully understand your concern.

Hope you don't have phimosis.
That's inability to retract the foreskin over the penis.

You should try again with a lubricated condom, or applying some KY jelly.
With these, you can have a more pleasant experience.

Wish you well.

Hello Dr.

While having intercourse, there is an inability for foreskin to retract.

Under normal conditions, there is no such problem

What is this?

Brief Answer:
It's not phimosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

That's what i was referring to.
This will need to be examined if, there's inability to do that, in non-erect positions.
Otherwise, forget it.
In phimosis, one can't retract the foreskin at all.

In erect position, the foreskin may become tight around the head of penis.
That's nothing to worry about.

Hope your doubts are cleared.
Wish you well.

Ok.

But how can i continue with smooth intercourse as we are planning for a child and regular/smooth intercourse is important

Brief Answer:
Longer time in foreplay, increases natural lubrication.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

There's no problem, if you're applying KY jelly.
The quantity you're going to apply is minimal.
It doesn't cause any side-effect on the semen, or sperms in it.

Spend more time with foreplay,so that natural lubrication is enhanced.
That way you may not need any artificial lubrication.
Try to avoid rough sex.
As you're planning for a child, sex during first two weeks after periods is needed.

Try it out that way and see.
Wish you good health.
