Suggest Remedies For Pain While Suffering From Kidney Stones

Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: Hello,
I had kidney stones approx. 2 weeks ago and this past week I thought I had a uti infection because it burned when I urinated and more frequently, and it came back negative. I was in to see a urologist today because when I went in to discuss the urine sample they said I had gross hematuria. Now he wants to do some scan, I don't see any blood in my urine, but I'm concerned about bladder cancer which he had mentioned.
I have never smoked in my life and am 55yrs. old and have been healthy. I did have non cancerous polyps on my cervix 2 yrs. ago but I'm really concerned about bladder cancer. How long could you bleed after kidney stones, my were relatively small which I can pass myself. What is normal? Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound Scan and Cystoscopy will help to relieve your apprehension.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been detected to have microscopic hematuria and very much worried about having cancer of the bladder .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Was your urine dark red ?

In most of the cases bladder cancer presents with gross painless hematuria and/or irritative bladder symptoms like urgency ,frequency etc.It is very difficult to diagnose Cancer of Bladder only on clinical examination and presence of RBC detected on microscopic examination, as one can have RBC in urine even with infection and stone disease .

The only tests that can confirm cancer of the bladder are
1) Ultrasound Scan of abdomen and pelvis
2) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy) and biopsy .This is most confirmative .
3) C.T Scan of the abdomen and pelvis (if required ).

Please go ahead and get these tests done to rule out bladder cancer and to allay your anxiety .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.

My urine was or not dark red. It still feels like I have Kidney stones and feeling like they are still passing. It does not hurt when I urinate, I do urinate a little more but I've been drinking a lot more water also. I never had these sypmtoms
before this previous week with my kidney stones. I don't really have urgency urinating but it just feels like I have a little pressure maybe from the kidney stones?
