Suggest Remedies For Pus Filled Bumps On The Areola

Posted on Fri, 20 May 2016
Question: I'm almost 5 weeks postpartum, and exclusively breastfeeding. 28 years old, no family or personal history of breast cancer or any cancer. Early on in my pregnancy I noticed a reddish bump on my areola. I didn't think much of it. Then the very end of January after moisturizing part of it came to a head and I popped it. It seems it's almost a cluster of three little white heads forming a reddish bump. Not tender, but still reddish in color and it came to a head in the same spot again today. Only one of the tiny white heads that make up this cluster pop. The bump is about the size of a pencil eraser. I'm terrified this is breast cancer as this bump isn't going away. Again it's reddish in color, made up of three little white heads that only one of them can pop.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be cyst of XXXXXXX go for surgical consultation to confirm

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcare magic

I can understand your concern.

According to your complaints I think you have developed cyst of XXXXXXX which is a benign condition.

Still to be absolutely sure I would recommend you to consult a surgeon and get it examined clinically.

Besides this if required go for mammography and biopsy of the lump.

Regards
Dr Asmeet

Ok. Excuse the red nipples. Im breastfeedin my five week old and she has a bad latch.g

No lump beneath the skin. The red spot is what im talking about - it feels like a raised bump on top of the skin.

Brief Answer:
Looks like XXXXXXX tubercle

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs.
Are you talking about the red nodule on the surface of the breast on the areolar margin? It looks like XXXXXXX tubercle which is a normal finding in pregnancy and lactation.
I hope you are not feeling any lump beneath the skin?
In that case you need to consult a surgeon.
