Brief Answer:
Yes please see your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

Yes, please consult your doctor about these symptoms.

*when did the symptoms start?
*is the discomfort getting worse or better?
*are your stools normal? Any difficulty is passing stools? What colour is it?
*any fever or abdominal cramping?
*did they perform a biopsy? Why did you have the colonoscopy done?

It is definitely of concern but could be benign and settle on its own.

As it has been 4 days, I suggest that you inform and see your doctor right away to check for any complications like Infection or perforation.
This is usually associated with fever and abdominal pain.

Burning could also occur as part of the after effects of the procedure. Have plenty of water (if not contraindicated due to coexisting medical conditions) and have a bland soft diet with natural fiber (whole fruits and vegetables).

If the pain gets worse, you have blood in stools, fever develops, continuous vomiting, severe abdominal bloating, go to the ER right away.

Hope this helps. I urge you to see your doctor right away. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health

No bowel movement since it was done. No fever just burning in abdominal and rectal area. Pain started after. But nit getting worse. Just the burning is.

Brief Answer:
Please do see your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up and clarifications.
It can be a few days till normal stools resume.

Please have a soft (liquid or semi solid diet till normal bowel movement occurs).

Have meals that include natural sources of fiber (whole fruits, fresh vegetables). Make sure to drink plenty of water as well (if not medically contraindicated).

The burning sensation needs to checked out though. I believe it could be just the irritation caused by the colonoscopy but I'd rather be cautious and suggest that you please consider my earlier suggestions.

Hope I've helped.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
