Suggest Remedies For Recurring Bilateral Inguinal Hernia
Question: I have bilateral inguinal hernias one of which is recurrent. They have become symptomatic recently, but I sleep soundly without pain, can walk with little pain, and no bulge is noticeable at this time. I saw my doctor yesterday for an unrelated matter and asked if my planned trip to Italy beginning next month, for a month duration should be cancelled. He told me to go and enjoy myself and make arrangements on return with a surgeon. Do you agree with his recommendation?
Brief Answer:
Yes, agreeable.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Noted all the history carefully.
Since your history says one of the bilateral hernia is recurrent means was operated once; although symptomatic, you do not have any noticeable bulge, there is sound sleep without pain, little pain on walking only you can certainly have one month trip.
The only precaution is to avoid anything that increases intra-abdominal pressure suddenly. Also avoid constipation, anything that can cause coughing.
I hope this answers your query and help you to have a great trip.
