Suggest Remedies For Severe Hip Pain Prior To Hip Replacement

I was using Difene capsules which took my pain away completely, but I had to stop because they caused inflammation of my bowel. So now my pain has returned.
Here is a list of painkillers I am on at the moment. Parecetemol (8 per day). Zydol ( 2 in the morning and 2 at night). I am on my 13th week of BuTran patches, (1 per week), and still no relief.
Any suggestions?
Pain control prior to hip replacement
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having so much pain while you are waiting for your hip replacement. You are currently taking several medications but they do not seem to be helping. To help you pain I would recommend several medications that may help
My first choice would be to add a anti-depressant like duloxetine or amitriptyline. These medications can help with pain not by making you less depressed but by the brain interpreting pain differently.
Second choice is using an anti-seizure medication like gabapentin or pregabapentin. These medications may also help with reducing pain by quieting the pain nerve endings.
Third choice acupuncture.
Fourth choice is medical marijuana. This is truly outside normal medicine but if you medical provider OKs it this may help ease your pain until you can have your surgery. I would get approval first from you provider as if you get a positive urine screen for marijuana they may think you are abusing and will stop your other pain medications
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
