Brief Answer:
Get an X ray of LS spine done. Physiotherapy and acupuncture can help.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that the pain is due to compression of the spinal nerves exiting from either side of the vertebrae. I would insist you to get a X Ray of Lumbosacral spine (AP and lateral) done and to see a physical therapist with the reports. Based on the findings he would be able to demonstrate to you proper exercises that should provide relief.

Let me add that acupuncture has been proved to be effective in knee osteoarthritis (using blinded placebo control randomized control trial - the best level of evidence of the day). It has also been demonstrated to depress the brain areas responsible for pain sensation. I would suggest you to try acupuncture and hope that would provide relief.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
