Suggest Remedies For Strained Muscle In Left Forearm
Question: I have been working out in the gym regularly and seem to have strained the outer part of my left forearm (just below the elbow). It looks to be the radius. The muscle hurts when I do certain exercises like tricep extensions and lying down chest dumbbell presses.
I have been applying ice on the affected part, twice a day. My physiotherapist has also advised me to rest the hand for a few days and to take a muscle relaxant called Etoshine-MR (once a day).
Please let me know if there is any other medication I'll need to take.

Hi,
Thanks for your query.
From the description that you have provided, it seems that you have suffered a muscle strain.
Beside taking medicine for muscle relaxation and pain, you can apply anti-inflammatory gel locally twice a day.
Give proper rest . Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time to heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care

Thanks doctor. Just 2 more questions.
1. How long should I rest for? Until the pain subsides? The hand does not pain with normal everyday use but I'm afraid it will get worse if I lift weights before it heals.
2. Will volini gel do? Or is there something more effective?
Regards,
XXXX
