Brief Answer:
I would like to see x rays

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to HCM.

I have studied your case. I think your son has injured his hamstrings from ischial tuberosity. This is a very painful injury.

Pain can be there for three to four weeks. Before I advise you any thing, I would like to know little detail of this illness:
1.Please send me X-ray Images .
2.When did this injury took place?
3.What medication he is on?

Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.

Thanks

He plays hockey and a teammate took him out at the knees back in November.
I don't have access to an xray but I will get it.
He's on naproxen 500 mg twice a day and 1000mg of sulfasalaxine twice a day as he has era a type of jeuvenile arthritis. His rheumatologist as ruled out any signs of arthritis in this area
It is strictly up by the bone that hurts.... Physio did say the other day she thinks it's the insertion point that in painful

Brief Answer:
it must be healed now

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If this injury took place in November then it is 3 months now. So this time is enough for complete healing. Some amount of pain can be due to mild inflammation. He is allowed to walk and do all his activity as pain permits.
Some amount of pain can be due to arthritis. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis makes body and muscle weak and inflammation takes some time in settle.
I have following suggestions for him.
1.He should sit in a tub with hot water twice daily.
2.Tablet Naproxen should be continued.
3.If this pain continues then there is need of MRI to confirm if there is any residual tear.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
